Juliana is from Osório, Brazil and is a 1st year PhD student in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and the Program for Polymers and Soft Matter. She graduated from Northwestern University in Spring 2024 with a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering and a B.A. in Communication Studies. During undergrad, Juliana worked in the group of Prof. Vinayak P. Dravid, studying different materials and nanoparticles for direct air carbon capture through moisture-swing adsorption. Their current research interests include biomaterials for environmental remediation and polymers degradation. Outside of research, she enjoys reading books, playing DnD, hiking, and exploring new cultures!
