Grace Anderson is a third year graduate student in the Department of Materials Science and the Program for Polymers and Soft Materials. She graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University in spring 2022 with a B.S. in Biochemistry and a B.A. in Music and while there, conducted research in the Mirjafari lab on the design, synthesis, and characterization of bio-inspired ionic liquids. They are currently researching soft materials and biopolymers for microbes, focused on protection and delivery for human health applications such as modulating the gut microbiome. Outside of research, she enjoys performing with the MIT Musical Theater Guild, ice skating, and crocheting!
