Olga Livier Jasso
Former Visiting Student
Livier is a Mexican Biotechnology Engineer from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional with a diverse research background, including plant biotechnology (focused on induced somatic embryogenesis), and biotechnological synthesis of precursors for antidepressants (SSRIs). After completing a stay at the University of Guanajuato focused on the development and characterization of collagen-based scaffolds for tissue engineering, she joined the Furst Lab at MIT as part of a fellowship program. There, her work centered on innovating electrochemical biosensors and advancing molecular diagnostics using CRISPR systems.
Beyond the lab, Livier enjoys going for walks and running. She is a devoted cinephile, an amateur painter, a Rubik’s Cube nerd, and a true concert enthusiast. She is also always ready for a professional wrestling show.
