Yeray Asensio holds a PhD in Chemical and Environmental Engineering from the University of Castilla-La Mancha (Spain). His research focuses on developing scalable microbial electrochemical technologies for bioremediation and the energy recovery of organic and inorganic pollutants. At the Furst Lab, he is currently exploring bioelectrochemical approaches for PFAS degradation and microbial solutions for waste upcycling. Outside the lab, Yeray is an avid music lover, always on the lookout for the next concert or festival to catch his favorite artists live
